Professor (Dr) Comfort Osonnaya

Professor Comfort Osonnaya has many higher academic qualifications in medicine and other subjects from Europe and United Kingdom. Hence she has diverse backgrounds in Medicine, Research and Education. Professor Osonnaya's main medical specialities are Family Medicine/Primary Care and Public Health. She is also trained in Gastroenterology, Community Medicine and Histopathology. She has further qualifications and expertise in Medical Education and Healthcare Informatics. Professor Osonnaya has specialist interests in evidence-based practice and epidemiology. Her work is relevant to Primary Care Physicians, Gastroenterologist, Surgeons, Pubic Health Practitioners and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals. Professor Osonnaya is Member and Fellow of various professional bodies and organisations.

Professor Osonnaya has worked in both Academic and Clinical Departments of General Practice and Primary Care, Public Health and Gastroenterology at various institutions and organisations for many years, where she has successfully developed and evaluated various research and education projects. She was also the Director and Senior Academic of the Epidemiology and Education Unit, Barts and The London, Queen Mary's School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of London. Professor Osonnaya is also a visiting Professor in Primary Care, Clinical Epidemiology, Medicine and Medical Education for various Universities.

Professor Osonnaya has extensive experience in editorial and publications work. As well as being the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Medicine (IJM), Professor Osonnaya is also the Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Primary Healthcare (IJPHC), and Editor in Chief of the JIARE London Journal of Primary Care (LJPC). Professor Osonnaya is also the Editor in Chief of the International Medical Conference Services (IMCS) and the Association of Health Care Professionals (AHCP) Scientific Conferences Book of Proceedings. She has also been the Editor of the Royal College of General Practitioners, North and West London Faculty, Journal of General Practice from 1993 to 2008. She is also the Chief Medical Director of the UK Community Health and Education Services, and the Project Leader for the Inequality and Co-morbidity Projects in various communities Worldwide, including major primary care, epidemiology and public health projects. Professor Osonnaya sits on many major Committees and Boards of various organisations in the UK and internationally.

What Professor Osonnaya does spans a broad arena with well funded projects, which are applicable to both third world countries and the developed countries with advanced quality in patient and modern medical technologies. Professor Comfort Osonnaya has a very lengthy publications list, addressing all issues in medicine, including issues in patient care, research and education. She is the author of over 250 peer reviewed original papers, 110 review and discussion papers, 450 peer reviewed conference proceedings, 150 editorials, 30 books, 45 reports and guides.

Apart from achieving a high national and international reputation in medicine, research and education, Professor Osonnaya also has the skills and knowledge of many major international languages. Professor Osonnaya also undertakes a lot of charitable and humanitarian activities both nationally and internationally.
